Path Light
A fixture that casts a soft pool of light downward to guide and define a walkway.
A path light is a fixture mounted on a short stem with a shade or hat on top that directs light downward into a soft pool on the walkway below. Its job is twofold: to guide footsteps safely along a path, driveway edge, or garden border, and to define the geometry of the landscape after dark. Good path lighting is restrained, spacing fixtures so their pools overlap gently rather than lining a walk like a runway. The shaded top blocks glare so you see the path, not the bulb. In brass or copper they read as part of the garden by day. We place them to light the ground, never the eye.
