Fixtures

Flood Light

A wide-beam fixture that washes large surfaces, facades, or hedges with broad, even light.

A flood light is a fixture built around a wide beam spread, typically 40 degrees or more, designed to spread light evenly across a large surface. Where a spotlight punches a tight beam onto a single target, a flood blankets a whole facade, a long hedge, a garage door, or a broad canopy with smooth, gradient-free illumination. In landscape design floods are the tool for wall washing and for lighting wide architectural elements without harsh hot spots. Used carefully and shielded against glare, they create a calm, expansive backdrop that anchors a scene. We balance floods against narrower accents so the composition has both broad fill and sharp focal points.
